Local 216 Business Representative Cole Wetzel surprised member Dwight Daniels when he stopped by Daniels’ home in Muskogee, Oklahoma, to hand deliver his 70-year pin.
Daniels brought out the shadow box he made for his pins and posed for the photo above.
Wetzel said Daniels was eager to add the new pin to the box and was appreciative of the in-person presentation. “I just showed up and knocked on the door,” Wetzel said.
Daniels, now 89, joined the union when he was 19. He worked as a carpenter before becoming a millwright and spending much time doing hydroelectric work.
