Work continues in Forney, Texas to renovate the home for a wounded military veteran through the Jared Allen Homes for Wounded Warriors program.
Central South carpenters are providing the manpower, Greater Dallas Construction the general contracting services and East Star Design the architectural services to transform the home of Navy Corpsman Thomas Henderson. The project is part of a national effort by ex-NFL star Jared Allen, who established a charitable organization to help wounded veterans function efficiently when they return to civilian life.
“This is a great patriotic effort going on in the United States and we are proud to be assisting with the Forney project for Corpsman Henderson,” said Jason Engels, Executive Secretary-Treasurer of the Central South Carpenters.
EST Engels recently honored those associated with the project. East Star Design’s Greg & Kim Guerin and Ken Throckmorton of Greater Dallas Construction each received an award for their “contribution and dedication to the Navy Corpsman Thomas Henderson Project for Jared Allen’s Homes for Wounded Warriors.”

The carpenters also thanked Jared Allen’s Homes for Wounded Warriors by presenting an award “in recognition and appreciation for their dedication and efforts in assisting our nation’s wounded veterans.” That award was accepted by Alex Karalexis from the Foundation.
Demolition is complete on the Henderson home. Framing is underway and subcontract work is in progress. Allen himself visited the jobsite and met contractor Throckmorton, Central South carpenters Will McFarlin and Joe Jeffrey, and Central South staff members Craig Wright and Kavin Griffin along with EST Engels.
Jared Allen’s Homes for Wounded Warriors is a non-profit organization created for the sole purpose of raising money to build or modify the homes of America's injured Military Veterans so they are handicap accessible and comfortable for our wounded vets. Moved by the commitment, dedication, and sacrifices that our soldiers make every day to protect our freedom, Jared Allen formed the organization in October of 2009, after he returned home from a USO trip to US Military bases in the Middle East.
