Carpenters Host Gulf Coast Labor Leader Workshop with Local Judicial Candidate
7/17/2018

Texas carpenters were happy to host a breakfast workshop recently, which enabled Gulf Coast Labor Leaders to meet and discuss many important issues with Nueces County Judge candidate, Barbara Canales.

Ms. Canales is an attorney, a member of the Corpus Christi Port Commission and a businesswoman with a background in petroleum engineering. She held a round-table discussion at the Houston Carpenters & Millwrights Training Facility in Pasadena, Texas, and focused on issues facing workers and businesses in the Southeast Texas coastal communities.

Central Southís Political Director, Gary Warren, and Houston Council Representative Terry Darling represented the carpenters at the meeting. Mr. Darling (on the left) and Mr. Warren (right) also presented candidate Canales with a donation for her election campaign.

Carpenter abilities in industrial scaffolding and construction infection control in healthcare facilities were both on display for the workshop, and were each seen as way to help many of the Commissionerís concerns.
